bercahaus is the first, highly prefabricated five levels timber house ever built in Berlin.
It features a timber wall-system that allows for an industrialized prefab process. All timber construction work was carried out in 44 working days in a factory in Italy (Lignoalp, https://www.lignoalp.com/edifici-multipiano-in-legno/) by highly skilled personnel using numerical control machine (latest generation) in a controlled environment and was therefore subject to continuous verification.
Once delivered to Berlin, they got installed by two skilled workers in 21 working days. Concrete was then poured on the timber floor elements. After the drying time, came the assembling of mechanical and electrical system coordinated with interior finished, which were completed in a matter of six months.
